The Learn & Transform Project of Kayseri Model Factory, which operates in partnership with Abdullah Gül University (AGU), Kayseri Chamber of Industry (KAYSO), and Kayseri Chamber of Commerce (KTO), was introduced at the 7th launch meeting.

The launch meeting of the Learn & Transform Project of the Model Factory, which was launched for the first time in Türkiye on a university campus and hosted by a university, was held at the conference hall of the Kayseri Organized Industrial Zone Directorate.

The launch event brought together a distinguished audience, including Deputy Minister of Industry and Technology Dr. Çetin Ali Dönmez, Kayseri Deputy Governor Şemsettin Erkaya, AGU Rector Prof. Dr. Cengiz Yılmaz, Kayseri Chamber of Industry Chairman Mehmet Büyüksimitci, Kayseri Chamber of Commerce Chairman Ömer Gülsoy, AGU Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Erk Hacıhasanoğlu, Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Secretary General Serdar Öztürk, managers of organized industrial zones (OSB) in the districts, and prominent business leaders.

During his address, Deputy Minister Dr. Çetin Ali Dönmez emphasized the vital role of Model Factories in their overall strategy, citing the Kayseri Model Factory as a shining example.

Dönmez said, "The chairmen of the Chambers of Industry and Commerce, the general manager of the Model Factory, and our Rector have great efforts here. Kayseri is a very big industrial city, a very important city. Especially in foreign trade, where its exports consistently surpass imports, and Kayseri deserves this. We have a technology and industry-oriented move within the scope of the Ministry's work, and we are evaluating projects within this move.”

Rector Prof. Dr. Cengiz Yılmaz stated that Kayseri Model Factory has achieved great success beyond expectations. Being the vice president of the Model Factory, Yılmaz added, "The most important factor of this success is the commitments of the Chairman of Kayseri Chamber of Commerce Mehmet Büyük Simitçi and the Chairman of Kayseri Chamber of Industry Ömer Gülsoy, their dedication and their serious individual attention to this project. Of course, without the very devoted and diligent work of our staff at the Kayseri Model Factory and other friends, we would not have come so far."

Büyüksimitci, who gave information about the projects carried out by the Model Factory since its establishment, reminded in his speech that the factory was established as a joint-stock company in 2020 in partnership with AGU, Chamber of Industry, and Chamber of Commerce.

Stating that they started the first Learn & Transform Project in 2021, Büyüksimitci said that as of today, they have completed 74 projects in two years and nine months.

Büyüksimitci also added that they have reached the 95th Learn & Transform Project with the projects they recently signed with the Ahiler Development Agency and that they aim to exceed the 100th project by the end of the year.

Drawing attention to the importance of efficient use of resources in production, Ömer Gülsoy, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Kayseri Chamber of Commerce, noted that their goal as Model Factory is not for the factory but for the enterprises to make a profit.

Gülsoy said, "Model Factories are the key to production where we can provide the most output with the least input in all our businesses, reduce carbon emissions, and pollute the environment the least."

Following these, a special session titled "Continuous Improvement Culture" was moderated by Salih Yalçın, General Manager of Model Factory, and several issues such as digital and lean transformation, energy efficiency, and competition in the industry were discussed. Later, a plaque ceremony was held.
