As part of the activities within the Week for Children with Leukemia, a panel entitled "Childhood Cancer and Stem Cell Transplantation" was held at Abdullah Gül University (AGU) as part of the "GLB201 Food and Health", one of the Global Challenge courses aiming at social contribution in addition to AGU's traditional education and research missions.

The panel was moderated by İlker Karacaoğlan, a former leukemia patient diagnosed with AML and current computer engineering student at Abdullah Gül University. At the panel, Erciyes Children's Hospital was introduced as the biggest Pediatric Hematology-Oncology Hospital and Bone Marrow Transplant Center in Turkey which was built by philanthropists of Kayseri.

The panelists were Prof. Musa Karakükcü, Deputy Chief Physician at the Medical Faculty of Erciyes University and Chairman of Kansere Karşı Birlikte Derneği (KANKA - Association of Solidarity Against Cancer), Assoc. Prof. Ekrem Ünal, Manager of the Blood Bank at the Medical Faculty of Erciyes University, and Begüm Arslan, Senior Psychologist at the Pediatric Hospital of Erciyes University.

Prof. Musa Karakükcü touched upon bone marrow transplantation in Kayseri and Turkey and introduced the Pediatric Hematology-Oncology Hospital and Bone Marrow Transplant Center, which was under construction and being built with the initiative of KANKA and the support of philanthropists. Once finished, the Center would be the biggest of its kind, he reported.

Assoc. Prof. Ekrem Ünal talked about childhood cancer types and their treatments. Senior Psychologist Begüm Arslan drew attention to psycho-oncology and voiced psychological needs of children going through cancer treatment. Following their speeches, the panelists answered students and other guests' questions.

On the same day, volunteers also donated blood to the Blood Center of Erciyes University as part of the Week for Children with Leukemia activities on the Abdullah Gül University Sümer Campus. During the day, KANKA (Association of Solidarity Against Cancer) was introduced. Lastly, paintings of children under treatment at the ERU Pediatric Oncology Hospital and photographs taken and donated to KANKA by photography artist Uğur Aydın were exhibited and sold.
