A seminar on "Growth and Population" was organized at Abdullah Gül University (AGU) under the GLB 202 "Immigration and Population" course.
The seminar was delivered as part of the "Immigration and Population" theme which is the fourth leg of the "Global Problems - GLB" courses, which were designed at AGU to realize societal impact and contribution function of a third-generation university.
Fatma Doğruel, Professor of Economics and Director of the Center for Regional Development at Marmara University, was the guest speaker of the organization.
In her speech, Prof. Doğruel drew attention to population dynamics in the world and the potential relationships between these dynamics and economics and economic growth. Prof. Doğruel touched upon historical dimension of the topic and current population distribution according to countries while comparing Turkey with other countries and informing the audience on demographic dividend.
