A cooperation protocol has been signed between Abdullah Gül University (AGU) and Başyazıcıoğlu Tekstil of Başyazıcı Holding manufacturing under the brand name Bamen.

The protocol with Başyazıcı Holding, which is based in Kayseri and has an important place in the Turkish economy, was signed at the meeting in the Rectorate Senate Hall on the Sümer Campus.

The protocol states that the two institutions will develop joint R&D projects. AGU faculty members will give consultation for the Bamen brand of Başyazıcıoğlu Tekstil. Additionally, undergraduate students will do internship and graduate students write their theses in cooperation with Başyazıcıoğlu Tekstil.

AGU will work on graduate education and certificate programs requested by Başyazıcıoğlu Tekstil and they will benefit from AGU's digital publication subscriptions in their national and international projects.

Rector Prof. İhsan Sabuncuoğlu spoke at the meeting and said the two institutions will actualize scientific and technological joint projects.

Stating that the cooperation will not be limited with R&D, Prof. Sabuncuoğlu said tangible outcomes will be generated.

Murat Başyazıcıoğlu, General Manager of Başyazıcıoğlu Tekstil, said in his speech that they are establishing a R&D center and aim to create a culture of running projects. Thanks to this cooperation, he added, they will strengthen that culture.

After the speeches, Rector Prof. İhsan Sabuncuoğlu and Başyazıcıoğlu Tekstil General Manager Murat Başyazıcıoğlu signed the protocol.

Deans, Department Heads and Faculty Members from AGU, the General Manager and managers from Başyazıcıoğlu Tekstil attended the meeting.
