The AGU Diversity and Equality Committee analyses and recommends university policies  related to the following fields:

1-Protection of Human Rights,
2-Peace and Inclusion,
3-Promoting Equity and Reducing Inequality,
4-Justice and Strong Institutions,
5-Gender Equality

The commission gives advice on providing gender equality on several fronts; such as, encouraging the participation of female students in the activities of student clubs; promoting policies against gender based discrimination; providing facilities, like kindergarden, for female staff (etc.)

The Committee also brings up the issue of detecting and reducing inequalities at the university and in the community. Providing access of disabled students to the university and increasing the participation of underrepresented groups in the campus life were some of the issues raised by the commission in the meeting.

The Committee emphasises the importance of the UN SDG 16,  Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions, and therefore promotes the participation of university staff and students in the decision making mechanisms of the university as well as the university partnerships with the local NGOs.
